KOUTSOUNARI
A magnificent and long beach at just a 2 minute walk
Koutsounari is the perfect base, to discover the beautiful and impressive Southeastern part of Crete either by car, bus or by foot. Daytrips to Kato Zakros, Vai, Kritsa, the Lasithi Plateau. Spinalonga or the island of Chrissi.
Sitia, Ierapetra and Agios Nikolaos are nice old towns to visit a market, museum or do a little shopping.
Small fishing and mountain villages with friendly people everywhere.
Trips by car (jeep) or walking trips with or without a guide into the mountains, to caves and through impressive gorges are yet another activity.
The apartments are a two minute walk from the beautiful quiet “Long Beach”, with tamarisk trees and crystal clear water. Some parts of the beach have beach chairs and umbrellas. Water sports are possible. Tavernas, supermarkets, and bus stop are all within walking distance. Good bus service to the towns of Sitia, 50 km to the East, and Ierapetra, only 8 km to the West.
